The large quantity of college grants can be confusing when you try to decide which one is best for you. Each student has different needs and they come from different backgrounds, so it won’t benefit you to apply to the same grant your best friend got. You need to determine which is right for you, even if it’s a regular pell grant.

One of the specifications of a college grant is ethnicity. Some organizations and trusts offer grants to underprivileged students based on ethnic and racial backgrounds. So, if you belong to a minority group, you can apply for a grant specified to your group (Hispanic, Afro-American, Irish, etc…).

On some cases, the acceptance of grants depends on good grades. There are grants targeted to outstanding students who excelled in their academic studies and need help in funding the high tuition. Other factors that are taken into consideration are income status and parenthood status.

Grants.gov, ED.gov, FAFSA.gov, United Negro Collect Fund (UNCF), NASA GSFC, Microsoft University Scholarship Program, Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation, and Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation.
